arrivals and departures within the 24 hours and those

remaining in port.

Junk Inspectors to confine themselves purely to Harbour Work.

On boarding a Junk the Certificate of Registry and the

Manifest to be demanded; name and brand No. to be compared.

Manifest to be signed by the Inspector as proof that Junk

has been boarded. Armament to be inspected and arms not

branded seized.

If doubts are entertained as to certificate of registry belong-

-ing to a Junk, check must be made by re-measurement.

If Junk has arrived from abroad and has no certificate the

Master must produce proof of having passed a Chinese Custom

Station. Failing such proof the matter to be jointly

investigated with the Commissioner of Customs. (page
